Depending on your CPU, the desktop client can display up to 25 or 49 participants in a single screen of the Gallery view. Gallery view lets you see thumbnail displays of participants, in a grid pattern, which expands and contracts as participants join and leave the meeting.
Pinning a participant will keep them as the largest video for your view of the meeting, while spotlighting will do the same but for everyone in the meeting. If it is just you and one other participant, your video will be smaller at the top and their video will appear below. Speaker view will switch the large video window between who is speaking with 3 or more participants in the meeting. In Windows 10, in the camera privacy settings, my camera (an integrated webcam) was seen as currently being used by the Zoom app.The problem remained after of course unchecking "Stop my video when joining a meeting" in the camera settings, restarting the computer, downloading the latest version of Zoom, stopping my Zoom account. After that, when I activated my camera during a meeting, the camera was considered activated but only displayed a black screen. By mistake, I checked the "Stop my video when joining a meeting" box in the camera settings. A few months ago, I opened a zoom account and created a meeting. I used to participate in meetings on Zoom and I could display my video without having a personal zoom account.
